Mountaineering in South Patagonia,

South
Patagonia has wonderful mountaineering options: diverse traverses,
glaciers and mountains ascents with different levels of difficulty. The
weather it is an important factor in this area so you need enough
time to wait for the right weather conditions. South Patagonia is also
attractive for mountain skiing, although there are many traverses
and mount ascents that can be done just with snowshoes and crampons.
Some of the options: Ice field, Mt. San Valentin, Mt. San Lorenzo,
Fitz Roy and Torre surroundings.
Season from September through April. Expeditions are from 1-4
weeks.

Mountaineering in North Patagonia, Argentina
In Northern Patagonia there are wide
range of volcanoes surrounded by glaciers great for mountaineering
ascents at the Argentina - Chile border. Relatively easy
approach through forest compared to South Patagonia mountains. Amazing
views from the summit to the surrounding Andes mountain range and
also the Pacific ocean. Some of the options: Mt. Tronador and Lanin
volcanoe ascents
Season from October to April. Mountaineering expeditions from
3-5 days.
