Torres del Paine National Park trekking circuit

Paine towers southPatagonia trekkingThis is the most famous National Park in Chile. Regular trekking circuits offer spectacular views of the granite towers, mixed with wilder treks lets you feel the solitude and the fierceness of Nature.

Our trekking trip starts and finishes in El Calafate, we will meet you at the airport and take you to your Bed and Breakfast in town. We will go over the list of gear that we will be taking with us to Chile, making sure that we are ready to leave the following morning. Later in the evening we will have a welcome dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in town.

After crossing the border into Chile we will stop for fresh supplies and a nice lunch in the port town of Puerto Natales then continue on our way to the park. Once we enter Torres del Paine we will check into the Albergue Las Torres where we will stay the first two nights.

Day 3 is our first day of trekking! We will share a nice long walk with our light day packs to Mirador las Torres. It is about 15 kilometers of easy hiking with a short and steep section to reach the look-out of the amazing Torres del Paine (Towers of Paine).

Day 5: after breakfast we leave for Lago Dickson, which is a long day’s trek of about 18 kilometers, we arrive at a small hut where we will stay the evening.

Day 6: is a short day’s hike to Campamento los Perros where we will rejuvenate our energy, for the next day is the most demanding day of the trek. This day is a little less than 4 hours of hiking and we will set up camp underneath the Beech trees.

Day 8 we will hike all day with Glacier Grey just to our right, peaking throughout the forest. It is about a 4 hour hike reaching a mountain hut called Refugio Grey where we will stay the evening.

Day 9 we will hike to Lago Pehoe and continue onto the opening of the French Valley where we will set up camp at Campamento los Italianos.

Day 11 we have two options, first is to hike all the way back to where we started the traverse or we can hike back to Lago Pehoe and take a Catamaran across the lake, where we will have a car waiting for us and then back to Albergue Las Torres. This is the last day of our trek and we will have a well deserved meal at the Hosteria Las Torres Restaurant just a short drive from our hostel.

Day 12 after breakfast we will start our drive back to El Calafate ending our trip.
